HUMAN TONGUE

The tongue is one of the most complicated engineering pieces in the human body. It is formed by a mechanism that has 17 muscles allowing it make impossible movements so you can whistle or shell seeds. What's more, it has its own irrigation system and is the most flexible organ.

It is the most important muscle in the body, even more than the biceps or the buttocks. Many scientists from lots of universities - too many names to fit in this article - argue that only using the tongue for talking and eating prevented our societies from evolving. They assure us that since the tongue began to play a more active role in the lives of the first hominids, the rate of evolution of humanity shot up with the appearance of fire, the wheel and the rest of the historic advances that have been made.
